The good stuff
Tepache de piña is a Mexican fermented drink made with organic pineapple skins/rinds/peels, organic sugar and spices (in our case, cinnamon and cloves).
There are yeasts that naturally occur on the pineapple skin, and when they are fed some sugar, fermentation occurs, leading to a delicious, lightly carbonated beverage. Tepache is a healthy, fizzy drink, similar to kombucha or water kefir. It has vitamin C, bromelain and probiotics.
