Description

The good stuff
When sliced, powerful antioxidants are released from shallots and create another compound called allicin, which is known for its anti-cancer properties. Shallots are also rich in the flavonoid quercetin, which can act as a natural antihistamine.

How to eat?
Because of their smaller size, shallots are perfect for pickling. They’re also slightly sweeter than brown onions so can form the base of any great soup, stew or curry. Fry first in garlic and spices before adding the rest of your ingredients.
